Soo Ae Thompson (aka Gee Soo), 50, of Anderson, Indiana, passed away peacefully Feb. 20, 2024, at her residence, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born July 5, 1973, in Anyang, South Korea, to Nam Kye Yoo and Ae Kyong Song and lived in South Korea with her three siblings. She married Risty Thompson on Oct. 28, 2004, in Seoul, South Korea.

Gee Soo was the proud owner of multiple businesses throughout her life and prided herself on being the best at everything she did. She was a member of the New Hope Korean Baptist Church and volunteered as a Sunday school teacher.

Gee Soo enjoyed traveling, camping, concerts and bingo but most of all she enjoyed being a tourist in the many places she lived during her life to include Alaska, Louisiana, Wisconsin and Indiana. She also greatly enjoyed being a tour guide in these places and her home in Korea when friends and family would visit. She had an infectious smile that could light up the room while being the life of any gathering and was lovingly loyal to her friends and family.

Surviving is her husband; fur baby Choon Shik; and countless friends and family who love and miss her dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents and fur baby Yong Mal.

A visitation will be held 9-11 a.m. March 2 at Burkhart Funeral Home, 201 W. Wabash Ave., Crawfordsville. A graveside service will follow at Alamo Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the New Hope Korean Baptist Church, 2240 E. 106th St, Carmel, IN 46032 to help fund new playground equipment in her memory for her Sunday school kids she dearly loved teaching.
