Southwood to celebrate 100th birthday

Dorothy Mae Southwood will celebrate her 100th birthday on July 4, 2026, surrounded by family and friends.

Dorothy was born on July 4, 1926, in Princeton, to Robert and Lou Huey. She married Lawrence Southwood on June 1, 1947, and together they shared 51 years of marriage before his passing in 1998.

In 1960, Dorothy and Lawrence moved to Crawfordsville, where they made their home and raised their family. Dorothy’s children are Larry (deceased) (Pat) Southwood, Debbie (Lee) Ebaugh and Beverly (Tom) Feather. She is also blessed with seven grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Known for her unwavering faith in God and gentle spirit, Dorothy lived on her own until December 2025. She now resides at Belle’s Place.

On July 4, Dorothy’s family will gather to celebrate this extraordinary milestone and honor a century of memories, accomplishments, and love. Her life has touched generations of family and friends, and her legacy continues to grow through those who know and love her.
