Danny Russell portrays President Abraham Lincoln at the Crawfordsville District Public Library on Sunday. He spoke for about an hour on his upbringing in Kentucky, Indiana and Illinois and his entry and involvement in politics. He spoke on what he feels was the most important act as President, the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation which ended slavery in the United States. Russell is a professional actor, who portrays Lincoln and other famous Hoosiers, James Whitcomb Riley and Daniel Boone. He studied acting in Chicago and has been doing Lincoln for about 20 years. Russell resides in Indianapolis.
