Well, we have been having a variety of weather for the beginning of December.
We have had 62 phone calls into the Veterans Service Office. We have had a total of 18 veterans and spouses come into the office for claims.
I will not be going to the American Legion or the VFW this month.
Honor Flight of Greater Lafayette is pleased to announce it is now taking applications for the Spring 2023 Honor Flight out of Purdue Airport in West Lafayette. The organization serves the following veteran military service years: World War II (Dec. 7, 1941 through Dec. 31, 1946); Korea (June 25, 1950 through July 27, 1963); Vietnam (Feb. 28, 1961 through May 7, 1975). If a veteran has served at least one day of active duty, anywhere in the world, during these time frames, he or she is eligible to fly with us.
Overseas service or combat service is not required. If a veteran’s service includes these dates, he or she has earned their Honor Flight.
There is absolutely no cost to the veteran for the trip.
Each veteran will be accompanied by an escort we call a guardian. If a veteran does not have a friend or family member who would like to serve the veteran, we have a large list of volunteers who would to go along.
