Position statement 1:

• What specific experiences and skills qualify you to be a school board member? Having served on the school board for four terms has given me the experience necessary to understand the role of a school board member and the issues that come before the board.

Position statement 2:

• What do you think are the most important issues facing the school corporation? Continuing to provide a quality education to students in a variety of circumstances.

Position statement 3:

• What are some of the concerns you hear from students, parents and citizens of the school community? Right now it’s all COVID related. Some think it’s OK to get back to full time in-person instruction and those who are not ready. We rely on the best information available to us to make decisions that impact so many people. All while balancing the educational needs of our students, the concerns of parents and the needs of our staff.

Position statement 4:

• How can you balance the budget and meet the needs of the students? With the state controlling the general fund, the best thing that we can control is offering a quality education that entices students to chose Crawfordsville over other schools. By keeping our enrollment numbers up, will ensure the tax dollars stays in our school corporation.

Position statement 5:

• During and following the COVID-19 pandemic, what will you do to help the recovery of the schools in the district? We will continue to have nurses in each of our buildings to provide for the health needs of all of our students, not every school corporation does. We will make sure that they have the resources needed to work in a safe and healthy environment.
