The Carnegie Museum of Montgomery County is excited to announce the project Montgomery County Then & Now: Downtown Crawfordsville.

The Montgomery County Then & Now: Downtown Crawfordsville project includes three different components: a temporary exhibit on display at the Carnegie Museum, a printed walking tour brochure, and a digital StoryMap exhibit. Over the past year, a team including staff from the Carnegie Museum, Montgomery County Historical Society, Lew Wallace Study and Museum, Crawfordsville Main Street and Montgomery County Visitors Bureau & Convention Bureau, as well as local author William Helling, have been working on a walking tour and digital StoryMap exhibit to share the history and architecture of downtown buildings with our friends and visitors.

The Then & Now exhibit is on display at the Carnegie Museum through Aug. 30. The StoryMap is viewable from phones, tablets and computers, making it accessible to both local viewers and to those who live out of town. The free printed walking tour brochure is available at the Carnegie Museum, Lane Place, Lew Wallace Study & Museum, Crawfordsville Main Street and Montgomery County Visitors Bureau & Convention Bureau. Visitors can enjoy one, two, or all three components of the project.

The project features 20 buildings that highlight the history and architecture of downtown Crawfordsville. View the digital exhibit at the StoryMap website http://bit.ly/4i3xw4b or use the QR code to access it on your phone.

Special thanks to the Montgomery County Community Foundation for funding the online StoryMap and to Crawfordsville Main Street and Montgomery County Visitors Bureau & Convention Bureau for underwriting the printed walking tour brochure.

The Carnegie Museum is located at 222 S. Washington St. Admission is free, and the museum is wheelchair and stroller accessible. The Carnegie Museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
