Thomas Lee May of Crawfordsville passed away Sunday night, Feb. 18, 2024, in his home. He was 57.

Tom was an agricultural mechanic, working several places, including Bane-Welker and most recently at Birkey’s Farm Store. He was a very dedicated worker. He liked to spend time with family and travel, with Disneyworld and Gatlinburg being his favorite travel destinations. He was also previously a reserve officer for Montgomery County.

Born Jan. 10, 1967, at Beech Grove, he was the son of James R. May and Marlene McLain May. He graduated from Tri-West in 1985 and took classes through technical schools to earn credits at John Deere Tech. He married Lisa J. Lofland on Nov. 13, 2003. She survives.

Surviving family includes: wife Lisa; three sons, Brandon (Tyler) May, Michael (Jasmine) Adams and Connor May; two brothers, Robert “Bob” (Julie) May and James May; and sister Jace Wilson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Charles May; and nephew Jared.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22 at Burkhart Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23 at the funeral home, led by Pastor Brock Graham. After the service, he will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery North.
