Traveling children’s exhibit to be unloaded

Posted

A national traveling children’s exhibit will be unloaded Monday at the Carnegie Museum.

Members of the Crawfordsville Board of Public Works and Safety approved a request from Kathy Brown to block two parking spaces on U.S. 231 in front of the museum beginning Monday. Brown asked that the parking restrictions remain in effect until Wednesday to allow adequate time to move all of the pieces into the museum.

The new exhibit is “The Amazing Castle” and is this year’s big attraction at the Carnegie, Brown said.

“This is an exhibit you’d see in a big city children’s museum,” Brown said.

It is geared for children ages 2-12.

The exhibit pieces will arrive Monday on a 53-foot truck from the Minnesota Children’s Museum.

It has several themed areas that introduce storybook characters who are part of the castle community. The exhibit features a castle-inspired dollhouse, great hall and royal garden, puppet theatre, royal workshops and dragon tower and more.

Brown said this year’s museum theme is storytelling and many activities are being planned.
