Turkey Run Elementary students and staff recognized and honored Veterans during a program held in the TRES gym on Friday.
The program began with the Presentation of the Flags followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
The second and third grade classes sang, “You’re a Grand Old Flag.”
Members of the Student Lighthouse Team read, “The Meaning of Veterans Day.”
The fourth and fifth grade students performed, “America the Beautiful.” This was followed by the Branches of the Military by the Student Lighthouse Team.
The veterans in attendance were then recognized. The young fives, kindergarten and first grade classes sang, “Thank you to our Veterans.”
The program was organized and conducted by the Student Lighthouse Team. These members are Havik Roemer, Rebel Roemer, Javelin Wallace, Abby Hill, Savanna York, Jaxson Woods, Cobie McCrory, Luke Mauntel, Julia Helderman and Taylor Snell.
