The Crawfordsville Board of Public Works and Public Safety approved several requests Wednesday, including multiple upcoming community events.
The board approved a request from Nicholson Elementary for the annual Bike & Hike on Sept. 1. The event will follow the same route as previous years, beginning at the Crawfordsville District Public Library.
The board also approved a request from Macy Simmons to close Pike Street at Pike Place from 3 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 10 for the annual Rock Out Recovery event. The free event will offer local community resources, live music, free food and other activities.
Christ 180 Church received approval to close Pike Street at Pike Place from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sept. 12 for Praise at Pike.
In other business, the board approved:
• A resolution updating the city’s municipal street system by adding and removing roadways. The changes will update the city’s official street records to reflect newly added roads and remove roads that no longer exist.
• An agreement with HWC Engineering for consulting services related to parking lot improvements at the Fusion 54 building. The $9,500 agreement will include developing a concept for the parking lot improvements and determining associated costs.
• Multiple work orders from Code Enforcement Officer Barry Lewis to mow properties including 5 Bridge Hampton Drive, owned by Kelly Murphy; 409 N. Grant Ave., owned by 105 ENPOK LLC; 1105 S. Grant Ave., owned by Erin and Matthew Fruits; 407 E. College St., owned by Alexander Stevens and Kaleigh Murran; and 203 S. Water St., owned by Malcolm Tanner.
