LINDEN — The Valero Renewables plant in Linden has contributed $15,000 to Mountie Mission, a nonprofit organization located in Ladoga.
Mountie Mission provides furniture, household items, linens, clothing, medical equipment (canes and walkers), school clothes, school supplies (for South Montgomery County students), food, and backpacks to families who need them. They also provide access to family and substance abuse counselors.
The funds from Valero were pledged toward building improvements for the organization, which will help save on future utility costs. The money saved will be used to fund Mountie Mission’s programming.
The Linden plant has committed more than 11,000 volunteering hours to various local organizations and events since 2013. Through its employee-led volunteering council, it has contributed to many events and projects in Montgomery County.
