Laurie Vellner

Laurie Vellner has lived in Montgomery County for 17 years. She teaches art and coaches the girls’ soccer team at Crawfordsville Middle School. She is married to her wife, Correna, and they have two children, Henry and Cora. The family has two cats, Bergie and Anna.

She said that she is blessed with awesome parents and by many wonderful friends who they also get to call their family. In her spare time, she loves going on vacations and trying new things, experiencing all forms of the arts, and making new memories with her family.

The song that always makes her get up and dance or sing along to is “Dancing Queen” by ABBA.

Vellner was surprised, but completely overjoyed when she was asked to be a Star. She wanted to participate in Dancing with the Montgomery County Stars fundraiser because she has done a lot of work with the Youth Service Bureau through the A-Team service club at CMS, but this time she is able to give her personal time and effort into helping the youth in Montgomery County.

She says the public should come to this event and support her and Kaylynn because, “We both believe in the power of giving support to the youth of our community — they truly are the future of Montgomery County.”

Kaylynn Keedy Ranspach

Kaylynn Keedy Ranspach was born and raised in Montgomery County. She returned for work in 2014 and moved back to live here in 2019. She is a social worker at North Montgomery High School.

Ranspach is married to her husband, Chuck. They recently celebrated their 10th year anniversary. They have two daughters, eight-year-old Sawyer and five-year-old Parker.

In her spare time, Ranspach enjoys teaching ballet and tap classes at Dance By Deborah dance studio. She loves spending time with her family. They can often be found “out and about” in the community.

Ranspach began dancing at Dance By Deborah when she was three years old. She
continued there until she graduated high school. She also was a seven-year member of the Crawfordsville Dance Teams. In college, she minored in dance and was captain of the Hope College Poms Dance Team. She enjoys dancing to all music.

Ranspach participates as a pro in Dancing with the Montgomery County Stars because, she says, “As a social worker in Montgomery County, I’ve been able to see firsthand the positive effects the YSB has on the youth of our community. The YSB does so much for the most vulnerable kids.”

She thinks the public should support her partner and her because they have a fun performance planned and both believe wholeheartedly in the mission of the YSB. She hopes everyone will come have a great time for a great cause.
