Wabash College opened the home portion of its 2026-27 swimming and diving schedule Saturday with a school-record performance and two freshman records from Ozzy Jankowski in a double-dual meet against Lewis University and Davenport University at the Class of 1950 Natatorium. The Little Giants also celebrated Senior Day, honoring six members of the program before the start of the competition.

Wabash lost 185-109 to Lewis and 182-118 to Davenport. Lewis defeated Davenport 163.5-129.5 in the third men’s dual meet of the afternoon.

Senior Day provided an opportunity to recognize Farrukh Akhatjonov, Michael Cruzado, Brody Page, Nick Plumb, Brody Page, and Quinn Sweeney for their contributions to the Wabash swimming and diving program.

Jankowski provided the highlight for the Little Giants by breaking the oldest school record on the Wabash record board. The freshman finished second in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 1:49.52, eclipsing the previous record of 1:50.93 established by David Birrer in 2011. Jankowski lowered the 15-year-old mark by 1.41 seconds while finishing just one-hundredth of a second behind Lewis University’s Alessio Milano, who won the event in 1:49.51.

Jankowski also established Wabash freshman records in both butterfly events. He captured the Little Giants’ lone individual victory of the afternoon by winning the 100 butterfly in 49.06, finishing ahead of Lewis swimmer Davidson Vincent, who took second in 49.53. Jankowski’s performance in the 200 butterfly established both the overall school record and the freshman standard.

The Little Giants added a pair of runner-up finishes from Ryan West and Lew Sams. West placed second in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:51.66, finishing behind Davenport’s Nikita Sobchuk, who won in 1:48.32. West also earned third place in the 100 backstroke, touching the wall in 51.91.

Sams finished second in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:05.94, narrowly missing the event victory. Davenport’s Micah Sholl won in 2:05.54, four-tenths of a second ahead of Sams. The Wabash swimmer also recorded a fourth-place finish in the 100 breaststroke in 58.07.

Wabash opened the meet with a third-place finish in the 200 medley relay. The Little Giants’ top quartet completed the race in 1:33.88, trailing Lewis (1:30.18) and Davenport (1:31.60). Wabash added a fourth-place finish in the final men’s event of the day, the 200 freestyle relay, with a time of 1:26.60.
