Wayne Fisher, 89, of Marshall passed away March 28, 2024, at Clinton Gardens in Clinton.
Born Dec. 14, 1934, in Putnam County, he was the son of Daniel Warren Fisher and Floy Richards Fisher. He married Mary Jo Hinshaw on Oct. 10, 1959; she survives.
Wayne was a 1955 graduate of Marshall High School and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Marshall Baptist Church. Wayne retired from Newport Army Ammunition Plant after 37 years. He then worked for Parke Seeds in Marshall.
Wayne is survived by wife Mary Jo Fisher of Marshall; two sons, Dallas Wayne Fisher (Sherry) of Brazil, Indiana, and Duane Lee Fisher (Trish) of Gibson City, Illinois; two granddaughters, Makayla Rose Fisher of Aurora, Colorado, and Delanie Kendall Fisher of Gibson City, Illinois. Also surviving is a sister, Audrey Market of Rockville, many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, John, Mike and Jerry Fisher; three sisters, Jean Thompson, Louse Shoaf and Phyllis Cooper; half-brother George Fisher; and half-sister Lucille Huggard.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 2 at Barnes and Rice Funeral Home, 111 E. High St., Rockville, with the Rev. Bill Dawson officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the time of the service. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery east of Marshall.
