SCP brings ‘The Land of Forgotten Toys’ to the Vanity stage

Posted

The Sugar Creek Players will bring holiday magic to the Vanity Theater this month with their upcoming production of “The Land of Forgotten Toys.”

This year’s show features a unique twist: two completely different casts, each performing on separate weekends.

The first cast will perform Dec. 5–7, with shows on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 5 p.m. The second cast will take the stage the following weekend, Dec. 12-14, with performances on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and a Sunday matinee at 2:30 p.m. The dual-cast format offers audiences the opportunity to experience two distinct interpretations of the same heartwarming story.

“The Land of Forgotten Toys” follows Grace, a bright young woman with dreams of adventure who works in her aunt’s toy store. Feeling trapped in a job that doesn’t match her ambitions, Grace’s life takes a surprising turn when a sudden blackout transports her and her coworker, Nikki, to the magical Land of Forgotten Toys. This whimsical world, home to discarded and overlooked toys, faces a crisis of its own: Santa Claus has been kidnapped by his scheming sister, Charlotta.

Grace soon finds herself leading an unlikely team of toys, elves, and misfits on a daring rescue mission. Along the way, she discovers courage, kindness, and the belief that everyone has value — no matter how forgotten. With humor, heart, and uplifting themes, the
production offers an inspiring message for audiences of all ages.

The use of two full casts reflects Sugar Creek Players’ commitment to community involvement.  Audiences attending both weekends will see fresh performances and varied interpretations of the beloved characters.

Tickets and additional show details are available through the Sugar Creek Players website: www.sugarcreekplayers.org.
