The Rockville Rotary Club recently hosted Jean Turnmire, left, owner of the Wilkins Mill Guest House located in Parke County near Bloomingdale, at their meeting held in the banquet room at the Thirty-Six Saloon in Rockville. On the right is current Rockville Rotary president Janna Scott. Turnmire discussed the history of the now gone Wilkins Mill and the current covered bridge in the same area that bears the name. The main cabin at the guest house started out as a general store in 1828 and is right next to the Wilkins Mill covered bridge. Over many years the main cabin has been expanded into a guest house with all the modern lodging conveniences for up to 12 guests and two other cabins have been added. More information is available on Facebook and on the website https://wilkinsmill.com.
