William Douglas “Doug” McGaughey, 55, of Russellville passed away Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2024, at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis.
He was born Feb. 21, 1968, at Crawfordsville, to the late Leonard Clay and Eleanor Ruth (Hester) McGaughey. Doug graduated from North Putnam High School in 1986.
Doug worked for Winfield United in Plainfield for the last 14 years. He was a member of the Russellville Community Church. He enjoyed watching sports, among his favorites were the Dallas Cowboys, Cincinnati Reds and Notre Dame. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by many.
He is survived by his siblings, Nancy McGaughey, Patty (Dan) Butler, Ted (Vonda) McGaughey, Deanna Carrington, Dan (Betty) McGaughey, Loretta Patterson, Jimmy (Candy) McGaughey, Lynette (Kevin) Hedgepath, Rita Wacker, Jerry (Page) McGaughey, David (Tammy) McGaughey, Mike (Holle) McGaughey and Cary (Jen) McGaughey, sister-in-law Linda McGaughey; aunt and uncle Jim and Marilyn Hester; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Ray McGaughey and Joan (Kennard) Goff; and brother-in-law Kevin Carrington.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20 at Russellville Community Church, with Pastor Brian Saunders officiating. He will be laid to rest privately by his family. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday. Servies & Morgan Funeral Home has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
