Jeff was born at Witham Hospital on Feb. 9, 1955, to Walter Earl and Thelma L. (Hoskins) Hopper. On Jan. 26, 2024, Jeff passed away peacefully with family by his side.

Jeff attended Granville Wells High School where he graduated in 1973. In August of 1974, Jeff met the love of his life, Nancy Grimes, whom he married Feb. 8, 1975. Together, they grew their family with their two daughters, Krista Jill, and Courtney Janelle.

From a young age, Jeff worked with his father, Earl, running the family business - Hopper Septic & Excavating. After his father’s passing, Jeff stepped into the role of owner and operator of the business in 1985. Jeff was a hardworking, energized, determined soul when it came to his work.

The community was very important to Jeff as he served throughout the years in many committees and organizations. He participated as a member of the Boone County Horsemans Association, the Advance Volunteer Fire Department as a fireman, a chairman of the board for Jackson Township, Trustee and member of Advance Community Christian Church and many other roles throughout his life.

Jeff enjoyed many hobbies in his life. He enjoyed going to car shows with his friends, sons-in-law, and grandkids to show off his classic ‘53 Ford truck. Many weekends throughout the summer, Jeff went camping at Raccoon Lake with friends and family. In addition to the short trips to the lake, Jeff loved to travel around the country and be adventurous with his wife, Nancy. As he raised his daughters, he shared with them his love for horses - Krista and Courtney quickly grew the same love and they were able to bond with that forever. That bond also continued through with his grandchildren as well. Horses weren’t the only animals that captured his heart, dogs were always a part of his life. Jeff had numerous dogs in his life, but most recently Kirby, Jax and his beloved Piper.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Nancy Hopper; daughters, Krista (Keith) Cromwell and Courtney (Jason) Graham; siblings, Bob (Alice) Hopper and Darleen Hopper; grandchildren, Kolten Cromwell, Kyler Cromwell, Gracie Graham and Lainey Graham.

Jeff is preceded in death by his parents and sister Kitty Hopper-Parkhurst.

Visitation will be held 2-8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30 at Advance Community Christian Church, 305 Main St., Advance. Funeral services are planned for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31 at the church. Interment will follow at I.O.O.F Cemetery in Jamestown. Porter and Hunt Funeral Home in Jamestown has been entrusted with his arrangements.
