TERRE HAUTE — Alison Wilson of Perrysville has been named a 2026-27 President’s Scholar at Indiana State University, earning one of the University’s most prestigious and competitive scholarships.

Wilson, a graduate of North Vermillion High School, is among 21 incoming students selected as President’s Scholars for the 2026-27 academic year. The class includes 18 freshmen and three transfer students.

For incoming freshmen, the President’s Scholarship provides full in-state tuition and on-campus housing, with a total four-year value of more than $80,000. Transfer recipients receive a scholarship covering the value of full in-state tuition.

At Indiana State, Wilson will be pursuing a degree in Psychology through the College of Arts and Sciences.

“We are thrilled to welcome the incoming class of President’s Scholars to campus this fall,” said Indiana State University President Mike Godard. “These are immensely talented students who have earned their scholarships through a highly competitive process. We look forward to the leadership and energy they will bring to our campus and are excited that they have chosen to begin their professional journeys at Indiana State University.”

Indiana State’s University Scholarship Office, in collaboration with the Honors College, begins recruiting high-achieving students following their admission to the University. Candidates for the President’s Scholarship participate in a highly competitive selection process that includes winter interview events designed to identify accomplished students who demonstrate the potential to contribute to the Indiana State community.

As a President’s Scholar, Wilson will join a community of high-achieving students at Indiana State and have opportunities to engage in the academic, leadership and experiential learning opportunities available through the Honors College and across the University.
