A Greencastle woman was arrested Wednesday morning after the vehicle she was driving crashed into a home in southern Montgomery County.
According to police, Jessica Nicole Bekkering, 40, was traveling north on U.S. 231 at approximately 7:58 a.m. when her vehicle left the roadway and struck a residence at 11619 S. U.S. 231.
Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the crash. Upon arrival they discovered Bekkering was not injured and there was no one was inside the residence at the time of the crash. During the investigation, deputies suspected Bekkering of consuming alcoholic beverages and after investigating further, arrested her on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing endangerment and public intoxication. She was transported to the Montgomery County Jail
The Crawfordsville Fire Department, New Market Volunteer Fire Department and Wilson’s Towing assisted at the scene.
