Woman grateful for act of kindness

Posted

I’m 75 and not very functional before I’ve had my morning coffee. On Jan. 3, I realized we had no coffee in the house so I set out for Kroger. While getting into my car, I set my purse on the roof and promptly forgot that I did so. I drove off to Kroger and when I got there realized what I’d done. After two drives past my route, my daughter and I could not find the purse. Woe was me!

I telephoned the non-emergency number of the Crawfordsville Police Department and was connected to an officer. I explained my route and he tried again. Meanwhile, an incredibly honest citizen, driving a van for a plumbing company (something with “Comfort” in the name) found the purse and turned it in to another police officer.

A huge thank you to all of those involved in this incident. Thank you, Mr. “Comfort,” for turning in my purse, thank you to the two police officers who linked the two parts of the story and got my purse back to me. What a tremendous relief and I’m so very happy I live in a community where this story has a happy ending.
