Two Terre Haute residents were arrested Friday morning shortly after an armed robbery at the Speedway Gas Station, 1811 Indianapolis Road.

Police received a call at 3:56 a.m. that a man had just entered the Speedway station and showed a gun and demanded money.

A description of the man, the car and what direction the vehicle was heading was given to the police. Almost immediately, a silver Chevy Spark matching the description was spotted heading westbound into town by Patrol Officer Lawyer Wintin.

Wintin pulled the vehicle over and detained a man and a woman. During further investigation police found a weapon, cash, methamphetamine, syringes and other stolen property.

“We got a great description of the suspect and car and what direction they were headed which helped us out tremendously,” Crawfordsville Detective David Long said. “Then we had an officer spot the vehicle just minutes later.”

Shane Dentler, 18, and Sheena Steigmeyer, 30, both of Terre Haute, were jailed in the Montgomery County Jail.

Dentler was charged with armed robbery, possession of methamphetamine, possession of syringes and possession of stolen property. Steigmeyer was charged with aiding in an armed robbery, possession of methamphetamine, possession of syringes and possession of stolen property. Dentler also had an outstanding warrant in another county.

Police are asking anyone with any other information regarding this case to contact Det. Long at 765-362-3762, ext. 217.
