Three juveniles were taken into custody Thursday night after leading police on a chase in a stolen vehicle in Crawfordsville, state police said.

The pursuit began when a speeding Ford Fusion fled a traffic stop on Interstate 74 at the State Road 32 exit ramp, public information officer Sgt. Jeremy Piers said in a news release. The vehicle had been clocked traveling 100 mph, Piers said.

The vehicle came to a stop after striking a tire deflation device on State Road 32 at Woodland Heights Drive, Piers said.

Police are not releasing the juveniles’ names due to their age. The vehicle had been reported stolen out of Iroquois, Illinois and was returned to its owner, Piers said.

State police was assisted on the scene by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, Crawfordsville Police Department and Wilson’s Towing.
