One of the things Jacquie and I look forward to every year is the annual Meridian-Kessler Home Tour. It has become a tradition for us, and we always enjoy spending the day walking through the beautiful homes and taking in all the character, history and creativity that make this neighborhood so special.
Every year seems to offer something a little different. We enjoy seeing the architecture, the decorating ideas and the unique touches that homeowners have added to their properties. Of course, it is also fun to simply walk around the neighborhood and enjoy the atmosphere of the day.
What makes the Home Tour even more meaningful is knowing that it is about more than just showcasing beautiful homes. Proceeds from the tour help support the Meridian-Kessler Neighborhood Association’s community grant program. Those funds are returned to the community to support local projects, organizations, schools, community gardens, first responders and other neighborhood efforts.
That’s one of the things we appreciate most about the tour. You get to spend a wonderful day enjoying some beautiful homes, while at the same time knowing that your participation is helping give back to the community.
For Jacquie and me, the Meridian-Kessler Home Tour has become one of those special annual traditions we don’t want to miss. We always have a great time, come away with plenty of ideas and memories, and look forward to doing it all over again next year.
