Crawfordsville was stymied by Monon Athletic Conference rival Cascade on Friday on the Athenian’s home turf. The Cadets won 56-0.
Cascade gained 319 yards on the ground on just 31 rushes resulting in 10.3 yards per rushing attempt.
A total of 10 Cadets ran the ball in the game which was played with a running clock in the entire second half. Cadet junior running back Timothy Turner had a game high 183 yards on just 10 rushes. Turner scored four times.
Cascade only threw the ball three times completing all three for an additional 69 yards.
Cascade led 42-0 at halftime.
“We did not stop their running game and that set the tone,” Athenian Coach Brad Clark said. “Our guys were disappointed with the way we responded against a very good Cascade team.”
Individual statistics for Crawfordsville were not available.
Crawfordsville (2-4, 0-4) MAC will travel Friday to county and conference rival North Montgomery (1-5, 0-4 MAC). Cascade (5-1, 4-0 MAC) will be home against Greencastle (2-4, 2-2 MAC).
