The Montgomery County Community Foundation continues to help people who are struggling due to the pandemic, thanks in part to a $10,000 grant from the AT&T Foundation.
AT&T’s grant will be dedicated to the MCCF’s COVID-19 Emergency Assistance Fund, which was established last March to help those affected by this unprecedented health crisis. The fund is focused largely on food insecurity, health and human services and child care.
“COVID-19 has impacted the lives of many Hoosiers, and local organizations like the Montgomery County Community Foundation are stepping in and providing key resources to families in their time of need,” said State Rep. Tim Brown. “It’s great to see AT&T and the AT&T Foundation working with local nonprofits to help residents overcome some significant challenges during trying times.”
“It’s no surprise that the MCCF is stepping up to assist people in need right now, as they have always been a leader here,” said State Sen. Phil Boots. “I appreciate that AT&T and the AT&T Foundation are acknowledging their ongoing efforts with financial support.”
In 2020, MCCF distributed more than $200,000 from the COVID-19 Emergency Assistance Fund to help local organizations.
“With the support of organizations like the AT&T Foundation, we’ve been able to help residents with everything from food and hygiene products, to rent payments and personal protection equipment,” said Kelly Taylor, CEO of MCCF.
“One of our company’s core values is to be there when you need us, and supporting the MCCF during the pandemic certainly embodies that value,” said AT&T Director of External Affairs Matt Long. “We’re grateful for organizations all across the state that are addressing the many challenges of COVID-19 every day.”
