Posted

Animal Welfare of Montgomery County is hosting an upcoming spay and neuter clinic for cats.

The clinic will be held May 28 in Crawfordsville. Sign up is available at https://bit.ly/3h6EXep. The clinic site and time are sent to the owner after signing up.

Cost is $80 per cat and covers the medical exam, all surgery costs including pre-op and post-op pain medication, any essential services ordered by the attending surgeon and access to the surgeon by phone for three days after surgery.

The cost for feral cats is $40 and they must be transported in a live trap. Financial assistance is available.

“This is a great way to do the right thing,” AWL director Misha Anderson said.

The services are performed by the nonprofit Public Veterinary Service, which runs spay and neuter clinics in California, Indiana, Ohio.

Other services are available for a fee, including deworming, ear mite treatment, cat vaccine and testing, cat flea treatment, 1-year rabies shots and microchipping.

Plans are also underway for the AWL’s annual Roll and Stroll, which will include a motorcycle run this year. The event begins at 11 a.m. June 5.

Vendors, food and educational opportunities will be on hand. Event T-shirts can be ordered through Top Line Athletics at strollforstrays21.itemorder.com/sale. Cost is $20.

All T-shirt sales are final. An email will be sent when the order is ready to pick up at the AWL on Big Four Arch Road during normal business hours.
