BOYS SOCCER PREVIEW: Chargers seek improvement in 2021

Posted

Entering his third season at the helm, North Montgomery boys’ soccer coach Tristain Hall knows the Chargers can only improve after a winless season with just one goal scored in 2020.

“As a team we know that last year’s results were not desirable and it starts with working hard all season long,” Hall said. “Our number one priority is to improve each day and the guys have been coming out and doing that.”

North Montgomery returns a core group of players including Owen Query, Ben Eldridge, Jayden Rausch, Henry Garver, Edgar Biddle, Sam Sheetz, Caleb Hunsberger, and Malachi Stevens. The Chargers also welcome newcomers Alek Bayless and Nathan Helgers.

And the key is the returning starting experience this season for the Chargers.

“I think this team is a group of hard working young men who desire to be better and have the understanding that last year does not reflect their ability,” Hall said. “Another strength we have as a team is togetherness. They are always pushing each other to be better and our leaders are stepping up to make sure everyone is learning.”

Hall says one weakness will be many players in new spots without much experience.
