Friday, July 3

• Crawfordsville Main Street First Friday/America 250 Celebration. Venture to Pike Place for a special First Friday. Food vendors and a beer garden will be available starting at 6 p.m. A ceremony by the local Honor Guard and a special reading of “Give Me Liberty” will take place at 6:30 p.m., followed by a concert by the Panama Road Band.

• Charla Rose Campground, Hillsboro — Bigger is Better Band and fireworks 7-11 p.m. Friday.

 

Saturday, July 4

• Crawfordsville Parks & Recreation Department’s Food, Fun and Fireworks. The celebration takes place in Milligan Park from 7-10 p.m. There will be free activities including a bounce house, giant slide, zipline and face painting. The food trucks include Smitty D’s Hot Dogs, Smokin’ Melts and Rollin’ Dough, Dirty Yeti, Chavez Kettle Corn and Lemon Shake Ups, Ice Cream La Michoacana, Papiocas and Cotton Candy Annie. Fireworks at dark.

• Ladoga’s 60th Fourth of July. Parade, lineup starts at 10:30 a.m. at the corner of Taylor and Hickory streets, parade begins at 11 a.m. Shifty’s Bar and Grill will be serving lunch at the Shelter House after the parade.

• 250th Independence Day July Fourth Celebration at Lake Waveland Park. Activities kick off around the park during the day, with food services (like Merrill’s Münchiez) starting at 5 p.m.

• New Richmond’s 60th Annual July 4th Celebration. The event kicks off with a pancake and sausage breakfast from 7-10 a.m. There will be food, vendors, and activities throughout the day, a car show, baby contest, and more. Route 117 Band will perform from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on the main stage, with the National Anthem at 9:30 p.m. and fireworks to follow.

• 66th annual Covington Fourth of July Celebration — Week-long celebration at the city park includes food, vendors, carnival rides and live entertainment. On Friday there is a car show and baby contest at 5 p.m. and a performance by Richard Goodall, America’s Got Talent winner, at 8 p.m. On Saturday, there will be a parade at 4 p.m. and fireworks at dusk.

•  At Raccoon SRA, fireworks also start around 10 p.m. The fireworks are paid for by contributions from the community collected by the Bellmore Volunteer Fire Department, which puts on the show. They will be launched from South Point near South Beach Shelter House in view of the beach, Hilltop, Harden, Raccoon and North shelters and the William Hill Picnic Area. •  Lieber SRA: The Friends of Lieber volunteers and park staff will host a patriotic ice cream social from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Nature Center. For more information see on.IN.gov/caglesmill.

•  Prophetstown SP: The Farm at Prophetstown State Park will have a cookout with yard games and a sprinkler from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information, see on.IN.gov/prophetstown.

• Raccoon SRA: The annual Fourth of July Big Bang Cornhole Tournament will begin with registration at 4:30 p.m. Cost is $5 per team. For more information, see on.IN.gov/raccoonsra.

Sunday, July 5

• America 250 Birthday Bash. The Montgomery County America 250 Committee is hosting an “America 250 Birthday Bash” at Pike Place at 3 p.m. The Montgomery County Civic Band will perform a patriotic-themed concert and refreshments will be served, along with activities for attendees.
