Candis Kay Cicirelli, 65, of Crawfordsville died at Friday, March 22, 2024, at Franciscan Hospital in Lafayette. Candis was a wife, mother of three, grandmother and caring sister.
She was born in Avon in 1958 to Donald and Christine Pruitt. Candis and her mother loved to go to garage sales, flea markets and shopping together at Kmart.
From a young age, Candis was friends with Laura Bewley Burton. They spent many weekends and days running around together and chasing boys. Candis attended Avon High School.
In her young adult years, she worked as a CNA in a nursing home in Avon. Candis worked for Towne Air Freight and FedEx for a combined 25-plus years. Later, Candis worked for Wabash College for about five years.
Candis met the love of her life, Greg Cicirelli and they were married on Oct. 10, 2010. They resided in Crawfordsville.
Candis and Greg enjoyed raising Yorkies and traveling to several Yorkie specific events often seen pushing several of the dogs in a stroller. Candis continued her love of going to garage sales and Goodwill shopping. Eventually that hobby rubbed off on Greg and he would go with her bargain hunting.
Candis leaves to cherish her memories her three children, Shawn Bacon, Ashley Bacon and Patrick Cope and four grandchildren, Jaedynn Bacon, Kaylincz Cutcliff, Cambryia Cutcliff and Eastynn Cruea.
Candis has one remaining sibling, Brent (Dawn “Shelly”) Pruitt. She also is survived by father-in-law Victor Cicirelli; sister-in-law Ann Cicirelli (Ben); and brother-in-law Michael Cicirelli (Claire)
Candis had a soft spot for her furry friends, treating each and every one like the valuable family member they were. Candis and Greg have raised several Yorkies, with three of them surviving.
Also surviving are a host of nephews and nieces, Bryce Pruitt (Caryn), Brayden Pruitt, Allyson Freel (Phillip “Matt”), Brittany Decker (Cole), Brooke Suitors (Noah) and Bryce Smith; great nephews, Alexander, Titus, Maxwell, Kai and Dax; and great nieces, Breanna, Shyann and Savanna.
Candis is preceded in death by parents Donald and Christine Pruitt; mother-in-law Jean Cicirelli; brothers Allen Pruitt and Deron Pruitt; brother-in-law Charlie Cicirelli; niece Micole Boillat; and nephew Reece Pruitt.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, March 28 at Conkle Funeral Home, Avon. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday March 29. Graveside services will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery in Plainfield following the funeral.
