The Carnegie Museum will celebrate Pi Day (3.14) from 2-4 p.m. Saturday.

Pi Day celebrates the Greek letter Pi – 3.14, representing the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. No matter the size of the circle, Pi is always the same number. Pi is amazing, a part of many mathematical formulas and is infinite. Wabash College professors and students will be on hand to share their love of math and science, two fields in which Pi is an important piece.

The public is invited to try Pi-themed activities, demonstration and crafts with, of course, pie to eat as well.

Trace/play, a collaboration with Owen Lowery and Chrissy Martin, also will be celebrated from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Lowery is the 2024 artist-in-residence at Wabash College. The morning will feature live dance and digital art through A.I. body tracking. Lowery created a program that uses Pi to create a piece of digital art through movement. Audience participation encouraged.
