Carole Raye Wise Cook, a Darlington native, age 75, passed away at 4:30 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021, in Northfield Senior Living, Brownsburg, following a lengthy illness. 

She was born Oct. 16, 1944, at Lafayette, daughter of the late Raymond and Blanche Mooday Wise. She married Charles Cook. He preceded her in death.

Carole was a graduate of Darlington High School and was employed by various restaurant including the former Apple Tree in Crawfordsville. Following her marriage to Charles Cook she lived in Bolivar, Missouri until this past April. She had moved back to Indiana to be near family as her health failed.

She and Charlie enjoyed traveling and attending “country music” shows. Carole also enjoyed crossword puzzles and gambling. 

Surviving are four sons, David Kiger of Crawfordsville, Mike (Roxann) Kerns of  Waynetown, Dan (Carrie) Kerns of Crawfordsville and Greg (Brianna Stevens) Kerns of Yountsville; brother Richard (Cecilia) Wise of Fremont, California; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

There will be private family services with inurnment in Whites Chapel Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri. Family and Friends Funeral Home of Wingate is assisting the family.
