LINDEN — North Montgomery rolled past Frankfort on Friday with a 58-14 win over their Monon Athletic Conference foe. The Chargers amassed 510 yards in the home victory.

Frankfort elected to kickoff to open the game and the Chargers promptly scored on a 60-yard scamper by senor Dakota Glasson. The play was a sign of things to come.

The Charger offense clicked the whole game fueled by Glasson. The North Montgomery speedster rushed the ball 18 times for 208 yards all in the first half. Glasson scored two rushing touchdowns.

North Montgomery led 44-7 at the half which meant the second half would be played with a running clock.

Charger quarterback Caden Eller passed only eight times and completed four covering 132 yards. Two of the completions were for touchdowns. Charger receivers Clayton Brown and Kadyn Cohee had scoring receptions covering 44 and 41 yards, respectively.

Eller added one rushing touchdown.

Other Chargers scoring in the game were by freshman quarterback Bryson Lough and running back Mitchell Myers. Both scores were the players’ first varsity touchdowns.

Lough’s score ignited the crowd when he scampered 51 yards down the home sideline untouched early in the third quarter.

Sophomore running back Mitchell Myers also scored his first varsity touchdown on a 70-yard dash through the middle of the Hot Dog defense with 2:59 left on the game clock.

While the Charger offense was rolling, so was the defense.

North Montgomery held Frankfort to 31 yards rushing and 43 yards passing in the first half.

The Hot Dogs finished the game with 44 net rushing yards and 58 passing yards for a total of 102 yards.

Frankfort completed a 6-yard pass for a touchdown with 4:56 remaining in the first half. The passing touchdown was a season’s first.

North Montgomery coach Josh Thompson said he was glad his team took care of business early in the Monon Athletic Conference battle.

“Our team came out and took it to Frankfort right away,” Thompson said. “We executed our offense and everyone was doing their job. Our guys played with a lot of enthusiasm and a lot of things went right for us. It was good to see our bench come into the game and executed also.”

North Montgomery (3-5, 2-4 MAC) will conclude the regular season Friday at North Putnam (5-3, 4-2 MAC).
