Another year has passed and we saw our largest number of meals served at the Community Christmas Dinner at First Baptist Church Family Life Center. By 11:30 a.m. we had 825 deliveries out, 75 carry-out and more than 300 in the dining hall by 1:45 p.m.
I cannot say enough about the volunteers who did such a great job, I was heard to say ... “I was almost bored as it was running like a well trained restaurant!” A big thank to my partner in crime in this endeavor, Angelina Ball and her family.
Another big thank you to our community businesses that help finance this huge event: American Legion Post 72 & Sons of American Legion, Hoosier Heartland State Bank, C&F Fabricating, Acuity Lighting, Arni’s Pizza, Pace Dairy, Nucor Steel, Bon Appetite Wabash College, Walden Enterprises, Fraternal Order of Eagles, Crawfordsville Paper Products, Davis Morrison Realty, JM Thompson Insurance, FC Tucker, Dr. Russell, B&L Engineering, Zahn’s Floorcovering, Gould Body, Robin’s Catering, Attitudes Salon, 3 Pink Poppies, and all the individual donations. Another thanks goes to my “good old gal pals” who come each year the day before to do prep and come back the day after to help do detail clean. I couldn’t and wouldn’t want to do it without you. Santa Claus was there with lots of gifts for all ages. We live in a blessed community and I hope we all try to support our local business as they are here for us when we asked.
