Last year’s winner, Central High School’s ‘Karl the Cobbler’ from Rapid City, South Dakota, set the stage for a new national mascot competition, rallying supporters throughout the six-round national competition. This year, a new field of costumed characters will represent their schools, traditions, and communities in a series of head-to-head public matchups.
“High school mascots represent generations of tradition and community pride,” said Justin Woo, founder of The64.com. “This competition gives students, alumni and supporters across the country a fun way to rally behind their schools and introduce their mascots to a national audience.”
A new round begins every three days until only one mascot remains. The public votes for the champion, with no judges, paid placements or editorial rankings.
