Singers from 13 Montgomery County churches will join voices 5 p.m. Sunday at the Christ’s United Methodist Church located at 909 E. Main St. in Crawfordsville. The 34-voice Montgomery County Collective Choir will present the Easter cantata “It is Finished”.
The cantata is comprised of traditional and contemporary Easter melodies and songs. Attendees will be reminded of the Easter story of Jesus Christ from the cross to the resurrection.
Under the direction of Linda Kingery, the choir has been practicing for two months.
Featured cantata soloist is Roxy Roach. Other soloists scheduled to perform special music are Chris Lewellen, Ray Smith, and Ethan Grant.
Loretta Whalen is the narrator and Joey Gerold is the sound technician.
Choir members are from Mt. Zion Church, New Market Christian Church, Christ’s United Methodist Church, Woodland Heights Christian Church, Mace Community Church, Friendship Baptist Church, 1st Baptist Church Crawfordsville, St. John’s Episcopal Church, 1st Methodist Church Crawfordsville, New Ross United Methodist Church, New Richmond Christian Church and Waynetown Christian Church.
The concert is free and open to the public.
