Posted

The Crawfordsville Kiwanis Club recently awarded $1,250 scholarships to three students from area high schools. In the last 22 years the Crawfordsville Kiwanis Club has provided almost $75,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors of the three Montgomery County high schools.

Kiwanis is a worldwide service organization with more than 600,000 members in 80 different nations. Service to children and young adults in our community is our priority and our vision is to motivate these young people into serving others. Scholarships provided by the Crawfordsville Kiwanis Club are named after Pat Cline. She is one of the most prestigious names when it comes to service in the community. Cline was a journalist, editor and Viet Nam War correspondent. She was also the winner of numerous awards including a Pulitzer Prize nomination. Cline was active in the community providing service and leadership through her work at numerous service organizations. The Pat Cline scholarships are awarded to graduates who have shown leadership in service and plan to continue service to the community in the future.

This year the club has selected the following graduates to receive this scholarship: Morgan Swick, North Montgomery High School; Jacob Pike, Southmont High School; and Lilly Klingbeil, Crawfordsville High School.
