Donnie Joe Hubbard of Crawfordsville went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2020, surrounded by family in his home.
He was born Oct. 31, 1951, to Joan Hubbard Nicoson and Donnie E. Hubbard. He married the love of his life Reda (Otterman), on Nov. 14, 1971.
Donnie graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1969. He attended Spoon River Junior College, in Canton, Illinois. He was a dedicated employee of Indiana Bell/Ameritech/ATT from 1970 until he retired in 2002. He spent his retired years working for Harold Mennen at Elder Heating and Plumbing. He enjoyed many years of coaching youth league baseball and cheering on his grandchildren in all of their activities.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years Reda; children, Tami (Darren) Haas and Heidi (Todd) Gambrel; and grandchildren, Tayla, Demi, Thatcher, Hutton and Rowa; mother Joan Nicoson; brother Wayne (Sandy) Hubbard; and several nephews, nieces and cousins.
Donnie was a member of Rock Point Church. He enjoyed traveling, fishing and humbly volunteered his time to many groups and organizations. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and had a strong love for his Lord Jesus.
Donnie was preceded in death by his father, Donnie E. Hubbard, and his step-father, Scott Nicoson.
Visitation will be 3-6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20 at Burkhart Funeral Home. Please follow all CDC guidelines, including social distancing and wearing a mask. A private service will begin at 6 p.m. and will be available on the funeral home Facebook page.
