God's Good News For Today

Eyes of faith

Posted

Paul prayed a wonderful prayer for the people in the church at Ephesus: “The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of His great power.” (Ephesians 1:18-19).

When you see things through the eyes of faith, God is always bigger than your problems. Despair, fear, anxiety and hopelessness fade away in the light of His grace and glory.

Daryl Chamlee wrote a wonderful poem entitled, “Eyes of  Faith.” It blessed my heart, I hope it does yours.

“My eyes have not seen Christ raise the dead nor was I there when thousands were fed. My eyes did not see Him cleanse the leper, but I know He cares for me as my shepherd.

“My eyes did not see Him say to the storm be still, but no matter what I face I am safe in God’s will. My eyes did not see Him walk on the sea, but I know He is there to calm what troubles me.

“My eyes did not see Him cause the deaf to hear, but I know He listens for He is always near. My eyes have not seen blind men receive their sight, but my trust is in Christ day and night.

“As I see the sun at the break of dawn, through the eyes of faith I know it won’t be long. Even though there are things my eyes have not seen, I know I will see Him when we crown Him King.”

Stand strong in God’s grace! Believe His word, and you will see His presence and power revealed in your life. “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made Heaven and earth,” (Psalm 121:1-2). Live your life this week with the “Eyes of Faith.”
