Free work day slated for Monday

Since the COVID pandemic, working from home or remotely has become the new normal for many. However, creating that clear divide for remote workers in a home setting can sometimes be challenging and may stall creativity and productivity. Coworking studios give individuals the ability to create that clear divide between home and work while providing all the necessary functions one may need in an office space. Fusion 54 is that space in the heart of downtown Crawfordsville.

Crawfordsville prides itself on being ahead of the game and offering an innovative approach to doing business right here in our small city. As the cornerstone project, Fusion 54 was a vital part of the larger vision for the City of Crawfordsville’s 2015 Stellar Community project, transforming how individuals in the city do business. The doors opened in 2018 and have hosted a multitude of remote working individuals since then. Anyone is welcome to come set up shop. The facility hosts a wide variety of freelancers, small and large business owners, non-profits, entrepreneurs and startup companies and remote employees.

Coworking spaces have historically been thought of as a larger city amenity, with progressive views on how business is conducted on a daily basis. This isn’t just a stuffy row of boxed-in office squares that we so often see on television shows at home. Fusion 54 is a culmination of open working stations, well-appointed board rooms, large event spaces and private offices. Located on the corner of Main and Washington streets in downtown Crawfordsville, the facility is within walking distance of many local businesses, restaurants and shops.

All of the spaces have the ability to move tables and chairs to best fit one’s work needs. There is access to printing, scanning, wireless copying, high-tech presentation capabilities and high-speed internet and Wi-Fi connections on every floor. Each floor is equipped with a well-appointed kitchenette with access to free coffee and refrigerator space. Members can share ideas, brainstorm and network with fellow coworking members.

Fusion 54 also provides business growth and development for Crawfordsville and Montgomery County communities. Those who work within Fusion 54 have access to the Montgomery County Visitors & Convention Bureau, Crawfordsville Main Street, Montgomery County Leadership Academy and Crawfordsville-Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce.

Membership costs are $30 per month for access to the Fusion 54 co-working studio during normal business hours. For $50 per month members can have unlimited all-access to the building with a personal access fob. Tours of the facility are available. Single-day passes to the studio are available for $10.

Fusion 54 is holding a free coworking day on the second floor from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday.
