Gary police seek public's tips in beating death of man, 70

GARY, Ind. (AP) — Gary police are seeking tips from the public as they investigate the killing of a 70-year-old man found beaten to death inside his home.

Ray Perry was pronounced dead Thursday from blunt force trauma. His death was ruled a homicide by the Lake County coroner’s office.

Perry’s body was found by a relative inside his home, Gary police Lt. Thomas Pawlak said. His death marks the 38th homicide this year in the northwest Indiana city, The (Northwest Indiana) Times reported.
