The Montgomery County Health Department and The Wabash Democracy and Public Discourse will hold two discussions on the most important health issues facing Montgomery County.
The first event will take place 6:30-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Crawfordsville District Public Library, 205 S. Washington St. A second event will take place 5-6:30 p.m. Nov. 18 also at the library.
The deliberation is meant to help identify and prioritize the most important health issues facing Montgomery County. Topics for the discussion were identified as community needs through the 2019 Community Health Needs Assessment Survey. The community discussions will help with the creation of a five-year Community Health Improvement Plan that will address the top three health priority issues through 2025.
All community members are invited and welcome to join in this discussion. A written report will be created after this event and shared with the Montgomery County Health Department as well as posted to the WDPD website at www.wabash.edu/plus/democracy. This report will include notes from the event and capture the various topics that were discussed.
Wabash Democracy and Public Discourse is a program of Wabash College that focuses on encouraging productive conversations in communities to address public issues. The program trains students to facilitate public events so that community voices can be heard. The director of the initiative is Associate Professor of Rhetoric Sara Drury.
