Mounties beat Braves for first time ever
The Southmont boys’ tennis team defeated Terre Haute South 3-2 for the first time in school history.
Adam Cox beat Raghaw Bakshi 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles, while Luke Tesmer beat Connor Hatch 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2 singles and sophomore Hayden Hess picked up his first varsity win at No. 3 singles 7-6(2), 6-3 over Luke Forsythe.
Athenians fall to Mavs
The Crawfordsville boys’ tennis team was narrowly defeated by McCutcheon 3-2 on Thursday night.
Freshman Wyatt Motz won at No. 2 singles 6-3, 6-2 over Conor Devlin, while freshman Jude Hutchison beat Jaxon Akridge 6-3, 6-1 at No. 3 singles.
Charger boys XC team wins invite
The North Montgomery boys’ cross country team won the Seeger Invite on Thursday.
Senior Elijah McCartney won the varsity 4K race with a time of 14:57, while Tim Lueking was second in 15:28. Southmont’s Aaron Evans was fourth in 16:19 and Skyler Wood fifth in 17:46.
Fountain Central’s Hayden Kler won the 9th-10th grade 3K race with a time of 10:54, while North Montgomery’s Paul Leuking was second in 11:28. North’s Nolan Yarger was fifth in 12:17.
Southmont’s Faith Allen was second in the girls’ varsity 4Krace with a time of 16:24, while North Montgomery’s Claire Bonwell was sixth in 19:45.
Athenians win 3-way meet
The Crawfordsville girls’ golf team swept Lafayette Central Catholic and Cloverdale on Thursday night.
The Athenians fired a 234, Central Catholic a 264 and Cloverdale a 266.
Carli Payne was the medalist with a 52, while Sadie Walker fired a 59, Christen Saunders a 59, McKenzie Wilson a 63, and Nancy Blanchard a 68.
Mounties fall to Hot Dogs
The Southmont volleyball team dropped a Sagamore Conference match 3-1 (25-27, 25-23, 25-21, 25-19) at home on Thursday night.
Tayler Anderson had 15 digs, Chelsea Veatch had 11 digs and Regan Remley had five.
Veatch added 17 assists and Elizabeth Conkright had 12.
Veatch had seven kills and Remley and Dara Watson each with four kills.

Adam Cox picked up a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles and Luke Tesmer won at No. 2 singles.
South sets school record
The Southmont girls’ golf team set a school record for nine holes with a score of 160 on Wednesday night at Oak Ridge Golf Course in a 160-233 win over South Putnam.
Freshman Addison Meadows was the meet medalist with a 36 on the Par-37 course.
Taylor Grino fired a 40, Bailey Barker a 43 and Macie Shirk a 41. Thompson fired a 52, Snook a 58 and Deverall a 61.
Mustangs sweep Hot Dogs
The Fountain Central boys’ tennis team blanked Frankfort 5-0 on Wednesday night.
FC gets win
The Fountain Central volleyball team won 3-0 (25-21, 25-23, 25-13) over Indiana Deaf on Wednesday night.
Chloe Golia and Larissa Bowers each had five kills.
