Humans United for Equality welcomes all to the Seventh Annual Celebration of Unity from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sept. 6 at Pike Place. This family-friendly event will feature live performances on stage, bounce houses, interactive activities and information booths. More than 30 organizations will be represented this year.
Nearly everything is free to the public, including face painting, balloon animals, henna tattoos and hot dogs sponsored by Hoosier Heartland State Bank. Additional food will be available for purchase.
Each year, the Celebration of Unity brings residents of Montgomery County together to increase understanding and cultivate belonging.
If you’re unsure whether this event is for you, worry not — it’s for everyone. Bring a lawn chair and comfortable shoes, and experience unity in community. Don’t forget to charge your phone, as this will certainly be a moment you’ll want to capture and share with your online communities.
The 2025 Celebration of Unity is sponsored by the City of Crawfordsville, Hoosier Heartland State Bank, Penguin Random House, Montgomery County League of Women Voters, Wabash College, Malcolm X Institute, Wabash College Athletics, Nucor, Joshi Pediatrics, The Paper of Montgomery County, Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church, St. John’s Episcopal Church and First Christian Church.
