WEST CENTRAL, Indiana — The Indiana Department of Transportation announces the entrance ramp from State Road 63 to Interstate 74 eastbound (Exit 4) will close on or after March 30, weather permitting. This is a scheduled 30-day closure, reopening April 30 for a bridge deck overlay. The ramp detour follows I-74 westbound to Illinois Exit 220 then back to I-74 eastbound.

Work will then move to the I-74 eastbound exit ramp to State Road 63 beginning May 4 through June 2. The ramp detour advises motorists to continue on I-74 eastbound to the Covington Exit 8 and reenter I-74 westbound to Exit 4 for State Road 63.

White Construction was awarded this contract for $4.6 million. This project also includes bridge deck overlays on the State Road 63 northbound bridge over Brouilletts Creek, south of Clinton in Vermillion County,  on the U.S. 150 bridges over the Wabash River near Terre Haute in Vigo County and a bridge deck replacement on State Road 157 over the Eel River in Owen County. These projects are scheduled to be completed late this year.

INDOT reminds motorists to follow the posted work zone speed limit, use caution and consider worker safety when traveling through a construction zone.
