Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church will host an ice cream social on Friday to benefit the Montgomery County United Band and Guard.
The event will take place at 7:30 p.m. at Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church, 307 S. Washington St., and is open to the entire community.
Guests will enjoy complimentary ice cream and an exclusive musical preview of the MCU Band’s upcoming 2026 marching season production, “Shadows & Silk.” The evening provides an opportunity for community members to support local students while enjoying fellowship and summer fun.
Ice cream for the event is being generously provided by Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church as part of its ongoing commitment to supporting youth and community programs throughout Montgomery County.
“Community partnerships play a vital role in helping our students succeed,” said MCU Band co-Director Andy Simpkins. “We are grateful to Wabash Avenue Presbyterian Church for hosting this event and for their support of our band and guard members.”
Free-will donations will be accepted during the event, with all proceeds benefiting the Montgomery County United Band and Guard program. Donations help provide educational opportunities, equipment, uniforms, travel, and performance experiences for student musicians and performers.
