Join us for ‘Spooky Science’

Posted

Looking for a fun, family night? Then consider joining us for our annual Spooky Science program. We invite all families in the community to come out and enjoy our 5th annual Spooky Science event 6-7 p.m. Monday at the Montgomery County 4-H Fairgrounds. In an effort to provide a fun event and keep our community healthy and safe, we will be doing a drive-thru style event for this year through our Beef barn. This will also be a great opportunity to learn more about what the 4-H program has to offer youth in the community.

In order to provide a safe program for families in the community, we adjusted our format to be a drive-thru and ask that families remain in their vehicle the entire time. While the format of Spooky Science has changed, you can still expect fun, hands-on activities that you and your youth can do at home. The first 100 participants will receive a goodie bag with hands-on activities that relate to the 3 Mission Areas of 4-H: Science, Healthy Living, and Civic Engagement. We will be providing additional videos about these Spooky Science activities on the “Montgomery County 4-H” Facebook page each evening at 7 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. All youth will receive candy treat bags at the end of the drive-thru. While families will not be allowed out of their vehicles, they can still enjoy our livestock stations and learn what projects, trips, and other opportunities 4-H has to offer.

This free event is open to all ages and we encourage families to still bring their youth in Halloween costumes. Youth do not have to be in 4-H to attend. We welcome all families and community members of Montgomery County to come out for a fun and relaxing evening together.

4-H enrollment is now through Jan. 15. Don’t delay in joining such a great youth development program that provides youth with the life skills that they need to make a difference. To enroll in Montgomery County 4-H, visit https://v2.4honline.com or visit the Montgomery County Extension office at 400 Parke Ave., Crawfordsville. The program fee for enrolling in 4-H is $15 per child and mini 4-H (grades K-2) is free.
