Larry Carl Remley, 85, of Waynetown passed away Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Witham Hospital in Lebanon.

He was born June 13, 1938, at Crawfordsville, to the late Carl John and Kathleen M. (Grenard) Remley.

Larry graduated from Waynetown High School in 1957. On Oct. 4, 1959, he married Maxine “Kay” Melvin, who preceded him in death May 3, 2002. Throughout the years he was a proud firefighter and farmer at heart. He was a firefighter for the Crawfordsville Fire Department for 35 years, four years as the assistant chief. He was a member of the Crawfordsville Masonic Lodge #50 and the Moose Lodge. He loved farming and enjoyed going to auctions, flea markets, going on vacations, traveling to Branson, taking cruises and going to the Big Dipper for sherbert. He loved capturing every moment and always had his camera in hand.

He is survived by his companion of 19 years, Lenna Moser; three children, John Remley, Gary (Kiley) Remley and Brenda (Jim) Hawksworth; eight grandchildren, Samantha (T.J) Riddle, Casey (Alex) Ansaldo, Levi (Courtney) Remley, Kaley Remley, Regan Remley, Carly Hawksworth, Abby Hawksworth and Jimmy Hawksworth; three great-grandchildren, Sutherlyn, A.J. and Dawson; two sisters, Linda Miller and Connie (Bob) Clark; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Kay Remley; and sister Rita Clark.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, April 1 at Sanders Funeral Care Waynetown, 202 Bratton Road, Waynetown, with a Masonic service at 6:45 p.m. There will also be a visitation at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 2 until the time of the funeral service at noon. Pastor Kevin Howey will officiate. Burial will follow at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Crawfordsville Fire Department Equipment Fund.
