On July 4, 2025, President Trump signed the “Big beautiful Bill,” the budget bill for 2025. I wrote an email to my Representative James Baird on an issue of concern with the legislation and the CDC budget and funding for advanced medical research. That was 311 days ago (as of May 13, 2026). I have received nothing more than an “auto reply,” meaning that his office has received my email.
I do admit to receiving three emails from Mr. Baird’s office. But none of these replies had anything to do with the issue and concerns I raised. Indeed, the first response was concerning a piece of legislation passed and signed into law by then President Bill Clinton in 1994, the second concerned “mad-cow disease” I assume, and the third focused on teenage boys and chronic illnesses ... I guess being a teenage boy is considered a chronic illness under RFK Jr.
I raised this issue along with the concerns it posed for our economy, (COVID proved this drastic effects of disease on our economic “health”) and our national security. Still no actual response Just three random emails about three non-relevant issues.
