Letter: Dem chair asks for support for Ervin

Posted

I am happy to support Summer Kiefer Ervin in her campaign for Montgomery County Council. She is a 1995 graduate for North Montgomery High School, earned a bachelor’s degree in health science from Purdue University and a master’s degree in health science from A.T. Still University in Missouri. Ervin is a database developer for Hoosier Cancer Research Network. She and her husband Brock have chosen to raise their three children in Montgomery County.

Economic development, improvement of existing infrastructure and investment in rural broadband are some of her priorities. Ervin brings the perspective of a health science professional, a lifelong county resident and a woman to the county council. Helen McGaughey was the last woman to serve on the council, she retired in 2003. Women bring a different perspective to decision making. The county budget is the primary responsibility of the county council, the budgetary decisions need to have various points of view.

She is a member of the League of Women Voters and chair of Women in Network.

I hope you will join me in voting for Ervin for county council.
